I have a Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd Gateway Webcam

when I attempt to capture video, nothing crashes and it creates a video
file, but it contains no data.

when I capture a picture, the picture is taken, but i hate to log out
than back in to reset my screen.

the webcam works with skype perfect, and kopete from what I've used of
it.
