Public bug reported:

Running against vmbuilder trunk, I get a "mkfs.ext3: Device size
reported to be zero" error when I run with the following command. Full
debug output is attached. It looks like /sys isn't being treated as a
special file system.

./vmbuilder \
    xen ubuntu \
    --suite=intrepid \
    --ec2 \
    --ec2-cert=$EC2_CERT \
    --ec2-key=$EC2_PRIVATE_KEY \
    --ec2-user=$AWS_USER_ID \
    --ec2-access-key=$AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID \
    --ec2-secret-key=$AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY \
    --ec2-bucket=$bucket \
    --ec2-prefix=$prefix \
    --part vmbuilder-ec2-32.part \
    -o \
    --debug

where "vmbuilder-ec2-32.part" contains:

root 10240 a1
/mnt 0 a2
swap 1024 a3
/sys 0
