Thank you for reporting this bug. Unfortunately, this appears to be
default behavior of x2x, as this is stated in the manual pages:

man x2x

"BUGS
       This  software  is  experimental!   Heaven  help  you if your network connection
       should go down.  Caveat hacker.  TANSTAAFL. "

This would suggest you should not turn the connection off when using
this software.
