I can't comment on >8.04.
But can confirm problem in 8.04.
To reproduce:
1) install thuban - aptitude error as above.
2) run thuban from console - get 
"/usr/lib/thuban/Thuban/UI/colordialog.py:25: DeprecationWarning: The wxPython compatibility package is no longer automatically generated or actively maintained.  Please switch to the wx package as soon as possible.
  from wxPython.lib.colourchooser import wxPyColourChooser

*******************************************************
 The following version errors were detected:
     Thuban was compiled with wx 2.6.3 but wxPython is 2.8.7.1
*******************************************************
"

My wxPython version is slightly different - perhaps due to update in
intervening period.

So, confirming and adding couple of duplicates.
