Public bug reported:

Installation on Gutsy of flashplugin-
nonfree_9.0.124.0ubuntu1~gutsy1_i386.deb results in a failure that never
shows up to the user. You simply have no flash, and do not know why.
Installing from the cli gives some information... Specifically that the
binary is not there anymore. But from the GUI you get nothing. It
needs an update, and better error handling. Workaround is to manually
download and install from adobe.

~$ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
