Public bug reported:

I am using Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10
The package is Multisync 0.90

I tried to sync a mobile phone using an IRMC-sync member.

When I finish all my settings, I hit the refresh button and I get the
following message:

"error while initializing syncengine:Unable to parse config data: unable
to parse settings"

The settings file include lots of useful instructions, which are of course commented out using the <!-- and --> tags.

Within the instructions however there are two dividers made by dashes,
like so...

-------------------------------------------------------

The dashes are forbidden inside comments and this is what produces the
error message.

It would be better to change the dash divider with a star divider, like
so

**************************************

or something that is not a dash anyway.

Then the data will be parsed ok.

** Affects: multisync (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
