Generally it's considered polite to check with the last person who
touched the package when doing a merge.  This is particularly true early
in the release cycle and even more particularly true just after the
merge has appeared.

I had already prepared a merge and was just checking bugs before I
uploaded.  If you'd at least mentioned you were interested in doing it,
one of us could have been saved the work.

I did review your debdiff and it correctly carried forward the previous
change.  I do think that now that the package has a patch system, we
should use it (I've converted the change to a quilt patch).  Also you
should be checking to see if this change has been reported back to
Debian (it hasn't, but I'll take care of it).

Since your debdiff needs more work, I'm uploading mine.
