What?  "Mugshot is an open project to create live social experiences
around entertainment." It is a 'web 2.0 aggregator", in that it can hook
into feeds from popular social networking sites and display information
on the desktop, through a notification area applet.

Why? Mugshot has a userbase who run ubuntu, and many are currently using
3rd party packages.
