[Bug 6567] installwatch crashes when watching 'ls' and 'mkdir'

Comment:
The problem with the above minimal patch is that I wrote it, and I've
no idea how installwatch works...  I just saw why it was crashing and
worked around the problem.  I really have no idea if the patch I made
is any good or not, other than that it "works for me".
