[Bug 41253] App does not fully launch

Description:
When I attempt to launch Gweled a window appears with a menu at the top
and what appears to be a status bar at the bottom, and a big grey box
with nothing but the number "000000" in the upper left hand corner.

The new game menu option, and indeed no other option seems to respond.

When I close the app, looking at System Monitor reveals the process is
still running.
