Well I tried installing the package again. apt-cache policy mozilla-imagezoom has the same old package listed, nothing has been updated. Installing the package resulted in the same old mess, and I've to search for the imagezoom dpkg scripts and manually remove them in order to get dpkg and apt back in shape. 
Yann, if you have made any updated package for mozilla-imagezoom, please get it into the Ubuntu repository.
