oh sorry i ran the command u posted:
update-alternatives --install /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icons/default/index.theme x-cursor-theme /etc/X11/cursors/core.theme 30
now i apt-get installed artwiz-cursor:

now i rebooted to find no artwiz-cursor for mouse pointer.even tried 
root at dapper:~# gnome-mouse-properties
it does not have artwiz-cursor displayed..
btw i run dapper flight 6 with Xorg7..help
