I haven't tried, because you don't get many opportunities to intltoolize many
GTK1 apps these days, but if there aren't any problems with switching gnucash to
intltool, this desktop file could be easily translated using the po file for the
rest of the app messages.

Ie, having a desktop file is good, but it will outstand in a Ubuntu system if
it's the only menu item in English. Intltool would help.
