Its main purpose is to get rid of user intervention; I'm not sure why it
would require intervention. Currently it's not always possible to use
/e/n/interfaces because it only runs commands *after* mapping is done.
It would be nice to have 'pre-map' and 'post-map' commands, but this
works now and is only slightly less elegant IMHO.
