No. I did that and it worked for a while, but at one point when I
rebooted, gnome or X had ceased to function altogether. There are other
SCIM repositories in existence though, both a Chinese one and a Japanese
one, and perhaps one of them has scim-m17n. I haven't tried combining
packages from all of them yet, but it might work.
