Hi all,

Of the 27 registered LoCo Team members, only 6 have been active in the
last few months, and only 4 have recently attended any of the online
meetings. Rather disappointing statistics!

If Ubuntu is going to thrive in Zimbabwe, as it should, we need to do
better than this, and it is up to all of you out there who are
passionate users and advocates, to get involved and help promote Ubuntu
in our country. There are a number of ways you can take part:

1. Promote Ubuntu in Harare and other cities/towns
2. Start a sub-group in your own area if outside of Harare
3. Join the Web site team and help keep the site up to date
4. Help with translations of Ubuntu into local languages
5. Provide support to users via the mailing list and forums
6. Get involved with the PC Recycling project which is being launched
7. Write Ubuntu-related articles that can be published in the media and
on the Web site
8. Become a part of the team, attend meetings, suggest projects and have
your say on the way forward!

You do not need to be technical to get involved, as there is always
plenty to be done and all contributions are welcome. This is an open
invitation for anyone to join the LoCo Team and participate, so please
don't leave it up to the few volunteers who are active - if you can
spare a little time and are passionate about Ubuntu, then you can make a
difference.

If you have any questions or comments, or would like to get involved,
please write to team at ubuntu.org.zw.

Regards,
Neil Coetzer
