scale, so we are engaging them seperately on this issue.

On the Debian front, Debian 6 (squeeze) is the next major release..due out
possibly later this year. It is currently 'unstable' at the moment, as its
still in development, however internally, Debian is our primary server OS,
so this will be used for testing purposes. If anyone is using Debian 4 in a
production environment, i recommend upgrading to Debian 5 as soon as
possible. Debian 4 updates/security fixes were postponed early in February
this year.

Once the repositories are updated, i will notify everyone on this mailing
list again, as well as update the information pages on our ubuntu website.

cheers!

Kalpesh

'font-size:
Just to advise you, that i'll be updating the local repository soon....

Heres a short summary of what will be going on:

- Repository update to Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 --> 32 and 64bit versions
- Repository update to Debian 6.0 --> 64bit only
- Removal of Debian 4.0
- Removal of Ubuntu 8.10

I am aware that some people are using 8.10 at the moment, but it is worth
noting that on this release, canonical provide updates/security fixes for 18
months from release day.
According to my calculations, updates for this release will expire next mon=
th
in April. So it is HIGHLY recommended to update to the newer release (either
9.10 or 10.04) as soon as possible.
