<p>LTS版拥有相当长的支持时间，非常适合大的部署和应用。其中桌面版本支持3年，服务器版支持5年。</p>
<p>如果你需要一个稳定的系统，不喜欢频繁的跨版本更新，选择Ubuntu LTS是个相当好的主意。</p>
<p>目前Ubuntu系列有6.06.2和8.04.2两个在同时服役，其中6.06.2的桌面版将于今年六月份停止支持，而服务器版依然会支持到2011年。</p>
<p>当然对于新部署的机器，选择Ubuntu 8.04.2是最合适的。</p>
<p>Ubuntu 8.04.2修正了大量的Bug，包含了近200个更新。这将保证你安装好的机器就是稳定且不需要作多少更新的状态的。</p>
