Firstly, the command should be enclosed by ` (backquote)s not ' (single
quote)s.
Secondly, I'm not sure if "gnomeui" is correct or not, I guess it should be
libgnomeui(? I haven't access to a Linux now ATM). However, you could check
it by seeing if there is a file "gnomeui.pc" in /usr/lib/pkg-config/.
