Thanks for all the support and messages of welcome. I currently have two problems, (with a third added as of your posting); 1)   Setting up Canon Printers on Linux (Ubuntu). I was hoping 8.10 would provide an answer, but it didn't. I use a LBP 810 and LBP 1120. The drivers are still a problem. I've read so many postings and advice on forums and tried some of the ideas, without success. This being the reason that all my PC's at the office run on Ubuntu 8.10, but for one PC still on Micro$oft Winblows 2000, because of the printer. At home I use a HP printer on 8.10 without any problems. 2)   For some reason, since having upgraded to 8.10 I cannot run any movies on my PC. All movies run so slow-motion it's almost frame by frame. I've been thinking that perhaps the 1gig memory is too little? 3)   I'm unable to establish a connection to <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://freenode.org">http://freenode.org</a> to register for irc?
