Downloaded an en_za package for OpenOffice which was broken, oops. Then found the myspell package at translate.co.za which is pretty good. Will definitely give it a bash with regard filing bugs and making it better. Pity there is no emergency offswitch for autocomplete and paragraph numbering in the OO file menu. Really stumped me in the middle of a deadline over the weekend and was about to through my computer out the window, when somebody piped up, try the text editor. I have just tested both and could not find any problem with either, except for a few unrecognised words.
