not sure how we can take this forward. <br>

My own involvement is more of the evangalising in trying to get NGOs
and community organisations to use Ubuntu as a lower cost option. So
far have met with mixed success, mainly given the complexity of getting
other bits of hardware to talk to linux generally and ubuntu
specifically. I am not a developer but more of a user although I can
sometimes do the cli bit and hack a kernel.<br>
<br>
My sense is to use the oft touted SA govt cabinet resolution on open
source to get govt to support more of open source particularly in
schools. <br>
<br>
In some of my work, govt itself asks for electronic versions of
documents to be made in MS word format. <br>
I find that I do that using openoffice - but it is not the same really.<br>
