Apparently Dell no longer allows a booting from USB. Which means no install from USB and I need to do a fresh install of my Ubuntu. Has anyone encountered this and if so, what’s the solution please? To me, it's more likely that a BIOS setting was reset during the update and the machine now does not boot from USB by default. You could try to override this (typically, there is a key you could press to bring up boot options), or you could explore the BIOS to look for a setting that might disable USB booting.
