[ubuntu-za] Thunderbird font sizes

Thks Frans, what you say makes some sense, however, I cannot see why I 
cannot select something as simple as the font size in a 
highly-customizable system. The system also seems to be inconsistent, it 
does not always use the same font size for new mails.
