[ubuntu-za] Download manager for multiple files

Problem with wget and cron is , that I then must remember to go and 
remove the cron entries
after each file is complete , otherwise it downloads the next day again 
and wastes data.
It is also very labour intensive and time consuming to go and make wget 
commands for every
download when you have multiple files.

Doesn't Ubuntu have a proper download manager ?
