[ubuntu-za] 3g trouble

Works great here to...no problems on win7 though i do use the full 
version of vodacom's app... maybe that can be the diff.

Wikus, i do not seem to get any errors on my side, even with only 2 bars 
on the signal....

I'd say go thtough the standard trouble shooting list....

check also the output of dmesg, right after disconnects,
check to see if the modem gets warm
try another usb port
try with or without the extension cable
try reboot before you connect
are the modem inserted correctly, (sometimes it works when not, but stop 
after a while)
are you using the front ports of you desktop pc (these are sometimes 
prone to errors)


jump up and down, do some handstands and go for a run.
then try again.
