Thanks to all for all the help
I changed the server download from SA to the main Ubuntu Server and then
did the update.
Again its not fully updated, here is the error:

Fetched 13,1 MB in 6min 1s (36,3 kB/s)
Reading package lists... Done
W: An error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is
not updated and the previous index files will be used. GPG error:
http://extras.ubuntu.com precise Release: The following signatures were
invalid: BADSIG 16126D3A3E5C1192 Ubuntu Extras Archive Automatic Signing
Key <ftpmaster at ubuntu.com>

W: Failed to fetch http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/precise/Release

W: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones
used instead.

Its exactly as it was with the ZA servers.

Any suggestions guys.

to mess up an Ubuntu <http://www.ubuntu.com> box, you need to work at it.
to mess up an ms windows box, you just need to *look* at it.

The installation instructions stated to install Windows 2000 or better.
So I installed Ubuntu <http://www.ubuntu.com>.
