[ubuntu-za] Libre office writer display

While editing documents, Libre Office Writer on my Ubuntu 11.10 cuts off 
sentences horizontally like in the screenshot. It also messes me around 
by sometimes not acknowledging a full line of text, i.e. it does not 
highlight the line, nor does it allow the cursor to be placed anywhere 
in the line until I go to the previous line and click "enter."

Can anyone suggest how this bug can be sorted out?
