It's 2012 already but the relevance of CLI will never go away from *nix
since it's at the heart of it all.

By recommending against it there's clearly a productivity gap or the
usefulness of cli was never discovered... try fixing your installation
(without reinstalling) via gui when you don't have access to your desktop
environment ;-)
