Most dual-core processor have vmx or svm, VT-X has been around for
about 5 years now. KVM is the recommended virtualisation by Ubuntu. If
Ubuntu is not on these machines yet, boot them with a live-cd and run
"egrep '(vmx|svm)' /proc/cpuinfo" to see if they support hardware
virtualisation, you never know, it will be better to check than taking
it for granted that they dont do it.

KVM is a full enterprise class virtualisation, if your hardware
supports vmx or svm I will give you advice how to set everything up
for best performance and so forth. Just a FYI, KVM with virtio will
run circles around Virtual Box. :-)
