as you can see from my post's I think the nvidia drivers in 10.04 is a
disaster. That being said, I had great graphics in previous versions and
none of these issues until now. Nvidia drivers from the repository's
worked well until now. Well that's with my little 6500, I'm also
considering a new card if I don't get a fix. But I'm sure though with
tinkering this will be resolved, and all things considered 10.04 looks
and feels great. Getting used to the left Min, Max and close buttons. I
almost like it now. Ubuntu still whips windowz, especially with Compiz
working the way it should.
If you have the cash I agree get a well documented (Linux supported)
"working" card, if not, hang in there a bit and ask the forums, someone
is bound to get this sorted in time.
