Hi

The resource http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/ provides a list of UVC compliant  
webcams. UVC is supposed to be a standard for video streaming over USB.  
Any UVC compliant device *should* just work on Ubuntu (although it is  
probably a good idea to test it first if you can).
