Hi Rob & all.

I got the iburst wireless USB modem (assuming there's only 1) Working last
weekend. (new install of ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx)

You have to build the 'ibdriver' from sourceforge [
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ibdriver]
It's real easy.. just extract, then:
$make && make install

NOTE: the official release is for kernel 2.6.28, the (my) current version is
2.6.32 - apparently there are issues with the original. The official release
has been patched to fit 2.6.32 and is in one of the developers' git
repository,
http://retis.sssup.it/~fabio/git/?p=ibdriver.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/master
(see project forum:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ibdriver/forums/forum/466965/topic/3695838)
If that doesn't work, i downloaded a link someone posted in the ubuntu
forums that also had a patched driver.

Follow the README - it will explain how to build/install the driver; and get
your connection up via the ubuntu (debian) pppoe client (you can also use
rp-pppoe) - the pppoe client creates a ppp connection on the ib0 (for me)
interface.

I also wrote a little java app to monitor signal strength, quality, noise,
and bit-rate; i guess i should post it somewhere for others to use..
There's also another java app (nice graphs etc.) that does that, but i
couldn't get it to work. It supposedly does iburst monitoring etc - called
eyeBurst (also from sourceforge)

Hope this helps someone.

Regards.
