Hi, winetricks from what i could tell was a bunch of scripts to get or
download the proprietary fonts and libraries that aren't "open" that
are required for some games to work. Age of empires is actually
infamous for not working great via wine because of a dib engine that
is not implemented in wine.

Most games i tried ran significantly better in windows, though most
would run to some degree on linux that is playable. Best games was
those that was ported by the game company. Like world of goo. Though
popcap games ran well too.
