Everytime we allow unsigned and unverified data to be installed, because
developers are too busy to worry about security, we increase the chances
of malware, of any type, becoming part of the software stack. I'm not
pointing fingers, its just I think we've been lulled into a false sense
of security. Sure, its not as bad as Windows, but Linux is not
impregnable. By a long way.
