Well... some good, some bad.

I've successfully PXE booted the live KDE image on the first try. 
Console video was perfect!  X11 did come up, but the image was shifted
to the right and wraps back around by a bit - I'd guess 64 pixels if
pressed.

The bad news: console video is not fixed in the kernel on the "mini.iso"
netboot image; I still get the flickery, shifted video I did before.

Once I got everything installed, though, video worked correctly.  (Alas,
kubuntu-mobile dies on start and I end up back at the login screen.)
