I've prepared a rollback package.  Basically it's just the mesa git
snapshot versioned "7.6.0-1+really7.6.0~git20090817-0ubuntu8".

I have tested this by uploading 7.6.0-1ubuntu1 to the x-retro PPA, and
then uploading the rollback package.  It successfully overrode the 7.6
package.

Regarding a time estimate, now that there is a package for it, it's
merely a matter of how long it takes for the buildd's to process it,
which I gather is a matter of a few hours.  Steve or pitti might be able
to give more a more precise estimate based on their experience.
