Cool, now I only have to learn how to use it. Meanwhile I'll attach a
little patch here.


Just a note, if someone tries this out:

ATM, this doesn't successfully build a binary.
debian/patches/01_gen_pci_ids.diff must be kept and refreshed manually
(before Applying Debian patches), or
debian/xserver-xorg-video-ati.install must be edited to omit the
usr/share/xserver-xorg/pci/* line (before Building binary packages).
Such issues arise when the Debian git conflicts with the current
upstream git, and when there are dependencies between separate
debian/patches and other files in debian/. This is difficult to
automate.
