Yikes, I have no idea how to handle that particular question so I'll be listening for others to answer. From what I have found, some people have a binary type mindset -- you're either ok with sexual references or not (therefore a prude). There's no inbetween, no reasoning, just a toggle between one or the other.

If I were in your shoes, I would point out that using that type of reference makes the entire group seem crude, unprofessional, and less approachable than if they used a fun, welcoming-to-all title. Don't any kids come to the LUG meetings? That could be a good point. I always bring at least one of my children to my meetings and don't attend the meetings that would possibly be inappropriate for them.

The greatest parts of the LUGs I go to are their cohesive ability to be fully welcoming and all-inclusive.

--Cathy Malmrose
www.zareason.com

The Local Community team for my area is hosting a couple of
simultaneous BBQs/LAN parties in a month, which is great. But one of
the members casually named the dual event "Two Parties, One State" in
reference to a pornographic video that circulated around the internet
for a while. I find the name alienating and offensive, but have been
at a loss to explain why. I've already responded to the person
privately, but can anyone help me come up with an explanation, or
maybe some talking points, in case the topic comes up in conversation
with others?

Thanks!
