I try my hardest (as most of my writers on the UDSF - http://doc.gwos.org , irc.freenode.net #ubuntu-gwos) to supply nessecary aid regardless of gender. I myself personally do not participate in such pissing contests (Such elitist contests to me are the stuff of things that come from a cows rectum). Im too old for that, Im all about the user. Its a sad state of affairs to see that occur , specially in such a humanistic community as ours. Im a guy, but I try to help all who need it.

What attracted me to this group was the hope that I would be able to ask a technical question and get it answered clearly and understandably. Many times in the other Linux groups the boys (not all of them) are to busy answering to impress (The pissing contest effect) .

Id certainly aggree with you on that basis Elizabeth. While admireable as it may sound, becoming too Gender-specific can only cause a number of problems. I wouldnt imagine that Social alienation based on tthe willingness for those of a specific gender to garner information from one specific gender would be a good thing. Rather , fostering properly the knowledge within a group of Women, allowing that growth to show positive contribution to the Community as a whole is more likely.

Of course, I could be wrong, and in which case then, someone throw a book in my direction , specifically aimed at my head.

One of the primary aims of Ubuntu-Women is to get more women into the Ubuntu
community. That means getting women out there on the general mailing lists,
forums, IRC channels, Wikis, etc.

It is not our intention to create a separate technical group where women can
