Hi All,

Back in December Melissa Draper heard about World Play Day [1], [2],
[3], [4], [5] and after she saw a couple people post photos of their
kids in the #ubuntu-women IRC channel - Melissa had a great idea!

What: 1st Annual Ubuntu Women Project World Play Day Celebration!

When: May 28, 2010

More Information:  The idea would be to gather a repository of photos
of girls playing with (and loving, and encouraged to play with) Ubuntu
-- A gallery of *buntu Girls.

Prizes:
Popular vote prize - A Dell Mini 10n with Ubuntu Moblin Remix
Randomly drawn prize - A Canonical sponsored prize.
Proposal:  Take submissions for at least 2 months ( think we are
running short on this time line this year but we could hit this target
if we can announce something on Monday, March 21, 2010.  8 weeks would
increase the likelihood of candid shots rather than staged ones. That
still gives us heaps of time to plan.

We still need to iron out some details such as:

 * Model Waivers since the children would be minors.
-I've emailed Canonical to see if they have any generic model
waivers we can modify for our use, but if any body has one they have
used, please send it to the thread.
 * What ages are we looking at.

Let's hear what you think - questions, comments, concerns etc.  Hope
the links below help answers any questions you might have.

Thanks everybody!  and Thanks to Melissa Draper for sharing this great
idea with the project!

Amber

There are lots of Linux users who don't care how the kernel works, but
only want to use it. That is a tribute to how good Linux is.
