Unfortunately not <==They both being separate OS's, the dual boot is
here to stay, but it allows you to choose which OS you wish to boot
into --use the 'down' arrow to choose windows XP and press enter.

OTOH, if you want to view or retrieve files in XP via the Ubuntu
installation, install Wine on Ubuntu.
