OK, John and I put some work into this to remove some of the obsolete
data. I have commented a bunch of stuff out, so we can bring portions
back as needed. Mostly we want this page to give folks who are
interested in translations a place to sign up and find each other
("You're working on Spanish translations too? Cool! Let's work
together!")

I had a nice chat with Amber this evening where we discussed this and
she'll be getting some wider community translations folks involved so
we can do this properly. There is an very old, out of date page from
our old wiki about translations which we're going to work to perfect
for our own use and for the wider community.

I'm also going ahead and adding discussing this to the agenda for our
team meeting on the 8th @ 12:00 UTC.
