Hi again everyone,

This email will be covering a lot of things and I am sorry if it will seem
like it is dragging on.

1. We want to have a team meeting sometime between 7-13 December. I am
including the link to the doodle poll so everyone who wishes to participate
can vote and we can come to the best possible time to meet. As always we
will try our best to accommodate everyone. The decision will be based on
the majority of votes for a particular time and day. If for some reason the
meeting happens where you are not able to attend please go through the links
I am going to provide and email me so I can make sure we address any points
you may have regarding the topic.

We will announce the results of the doodle poll and the date and time of the
meeting on December 3rd. This should give everyone a week to vote on the
doodle poll.

2. The Blueprint from UDS
https://blueprints.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu-women.org/+spec/community-ubuntu-women-project

The wiki with the full specs for the goals of this cycle can be found under
"Read the full specification<https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Roadmaps/Lucid/UbuntuWomen>"
on the Blue Print or you can go to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Roadmaps/Lucid/UbuntuWomen

We have 3 objectives for this meeting and I am not sure we can begin to
cover all of them in one meeting

*OBJECTIVE*: Clarify the purpose of the #ubuntu-women channel.
*OBJECTIVE*: Create a safe space IRC channel.
*OBJECTIVE*: Appoint a leader of the Ubuntu Women team, complete with
codified expectations around the role.

I am of the opinion that this 1st meeting we should go over the the goals
and objectives but concentrate on the leadership Objective. Then before we
end the meeting set the next meeting date and work on the other objectives.
If this does not sound like a good start, please advise.

While at UDS the process for leadership for the Lucid cycle only will be
determined as follows:

1) People will add their names or be nominated for the role of leader and
write up a small blurb about why they would want to be the leader
2) get some testimonials
3) on a date to be determined the list goes to the CC (Community Council)
for a recommendation on the leader to help set up the governance

This leader will have 3 to 4 advisory members helping out with this process.

This process will be for the interim while we set up the governance process
and the goal is by UDS-M (Ubuntu Developer Summit -M Ubuntu planning summit
for Ubuntu 10.10) we will have in place a system where by we as a team will
be governing ourselves with having to have the CC appoint anyone.

Please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions of if I
inadvertently left something off etc...

Thanks everyone, I am so excited about the forward progression of the Ubuntu
Women Project and getting more women involved in the Ubuntu Project. Let's
see if we can meet and maybe even exceed these goals during the Lucid
cycle. Our goal is to have monthly meetings and come together as a team of
action around the Ubuntu Project. So "Let's Go Team!"

Again Thank you! and see you at the meeting, on the mailing list, forums, or
the IRC channel...

:-) Amber Graner
