As Vidya mentioned in an earlier email we do try to instead encourage
women to join their LoCo teams rather than a localized Ubuntu Women
chapters because we fear that the localized U-W chapters will make it
less likely for women to get involved in the main LoCo teams.
However, we are sensitive to different cultural needs and are open for
discussing a localized chapter if others believe this is the best way
to reach out to Italian women. The main condition would be that the
goal of the localized team is the same as the main U-W project and
that involvement with the main LoCo team is heavily encouraged.
Also worth noting, where I am in Philadelphia we have a local
LinuxChix chapter. Instead of having a local Ubuntu-centric place to
meet other women interested in Linux we team up with them for support.
It looks like there is an Italian LinuxChix team too! So you might
