Just my two cents: I don't really care what word is used, as long as
it isn't otherwise offensive. Picking one word and sticking to
it--even if that word were something like "Ubuntuman"--seems
preferable to being required to state one's gender. Then again I am
not among those who insist on being humyn as opposed to human...

I am amused by the point, though, that if a feminine (or
feminine-sounding) word had been chosen from the start, there would
probably be next to no complaint.
