These days a still very important but smaller & smaller part is built by
the GNU project (e.g. compilers and related, core utilities), while more
& more is provided by other projects now: Xorg, GNOME, KDE, Apache,
Perl, Python, and lots and lots of (smaller) projects.
Some FSF/GNU fans need to learn a bit of modesty before claiming it
should be called "GNU" or "GNU/Linux" and not something like
GNU/Linux/Xorg/GNOME/KDE/Python/Perl/...

Just call it Ubuntu... ;)
