This is a very inspiring article by a woman I know, Lisa Miller. I've
been in contact with her and her husband for a couple years now (I
don't even remember how it began!).

Lisa describes herself as having been "a techno-dinosaur, resisting
the call of the computer with all my might." but as her article
explains, she's not only embraced Linux (PCLinuxOS, but us Ubuntu
folks will forgive that ;)) and the plethora of applications it
offers, but she's even got her mother in her 70s using it:

"She now surfs the web by herself, plays games, writes emails, has
downloaded free software and even advertised a rummage sale on
Craiglist. We talk on Skype twice a week and have never been closer
since I left home rather a long time ago."

A great read if you have some time: http://www.tuxmachines.org/node/31070

Cheers,
