Good question.

Women from outside North America are quoted; there's one in Scotland  
and at least one more in the UK. I also had input from a woman in  
Germany, though as it turned out I didn't use her quote.

But I wasn't trying to make it specific to a particular geography. My  
own knowledge is North American; I dare say that most of the article  
reflects that, consciously or otherwise.
