[UbuntuWomen] request for anti-spam workshop

Hi,

I'm new here.

I don't have enough information to fill a whole workshop, but I have
three basic tips that have served me well.

1. Avoid putting your email address online as much as you can. Instead,
spell it out like this: me (at) trishacupra (dot) com. This is because
spammers get there lists of addresses by harvesting email addresses off
web pages.

2. Have a separate email address for mailing lists, online forums, and
subscriptions to eZines/newsletters.

3. Use a Gmail email account as the separate address - the spam filter
will get rid of a lot of the junk automatically.

Hope this helps,
Trisha
